
Milaha and Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar partner to advance logistics and supply chain innovation
DOHA, QATAR – Milaha, a leading logistics and shipping company, and Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), a Qatar Foundation partner university, have formalized a collaborative partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement aims to enhance cooperation in education, scientific research, and community development, with a specific focus on the logistics and supply chain sector.
This MoU underscores the shared dedication of both institutions to cultivate innovation, facilitate knowledge exchange, and build capacity within vital academic and professional domains.
The MoU was officially signed by Fahaad Saad Al Qahtani, Group CEO of Milaha, and Michael Trick, dean of CMU-Q. This partnership is set to foster closer ties between academia and industry through joint research initiatives and executive education programs.
According to the terms of the MoU, CMU-Q students will gain valuable opportunities through scholarships, internship placements, and potential employment at Milaha. This will provide them with practical, real-world experience and clear career pathways within the company. As well, the agreement includes the development of tailored executive training programs for Milaha’s senior leaders and employees. The two organizations will also collaborate on the joint organization of conferences, workshops, and seminars to promote dialogue and knowledge sharing between the academic and industrial sectors.
A key aspect of the partnership is community engagement, with initiatives designed to encourage student participation in volunteer activities and social impact projects that align with Milaha’s corporate social responsibility objectives.
