As a small community with a focus on undergraduate education, our campus serves as a dynamic testing ground for pedagogical innovation, integrating emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and experiential learning directly into our curriculum. 

We are fortunate to have tremendous resources, including CMU’s Eberly Center for Teaching Excellence and Educational Innovation, the global educational initiatives within Qatar Foundation and the faculty community of educators within Education City. In this setting, our faculty members work across disciplines, collaboratively and purposefully, to develop new approaches that will enrich the learning experience.

Sustainability is an important theme that intersects disciplines at CMU-Q. Sustainability-related projects have included the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics, improving how solar panels are autonomously cleaned and maintained, how greenhouse plants are cared for, and how marine ecosystems are monitored. Faculty members are also delving into diverse environmental and conservation questions, like how to reimagine Qatar’s rural landscapes through the lenses of design, policy, and cultural heritage, how to improve urban water conservation using vertical greenwalls, and how knowledge and understanding can shape public attitudes toward biodiversity and conservation.
