Education City Health and Wellness Fair comes back to CMU-Q
Education City students, faculty and staff explored Qatar’s resources for well-being at this year’s Health and Wellness Fair. The annual fair was held at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, where the event originated in 2015. The event is organized collaboratively by CMU-Q, the partner universities and Qatar Foundation (QF).
This year’s event featured 34 organizations that cover different aspects of health and wellness, including physical fitness, nutrition, medical care, mindfulness and environmental sustainability.
The fair featured 34 health and wellness organizations
Amie Rollins, director of health and wellness at CMU-Q and a member of the Education City Health Advisory Board, said, “we approach health and wellness from a holistic perspective, so we look for a variety of vendors who represent the many aspects of being well as an individual and a community.”
There were several new areas of wellness that were on display at the fair, including yoga classes, health food vendors, and information booths for different hospitals and health care centers around Doha.
The Health Advisory Board, which is comprised of representatives from the partner universities, QF Student Housing and Residence Life and QF Primary Health Care Center, works collaboratively on a number of health awareness events for the Education City community.
