Al Khalij Commercial Bank (al khaliji) recently hosted Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) students at its headquarters.
The students were taken on a tour of the bank’s various departments and briefed on the role and functions of each.
The visit came in the framework of the two parties’ joint co-operation, and is considered the first of a series of initiatives and programmes that will be carried out with CMU-Q students.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in January between al khaliji and Carnegie Mellon to create close co-operation and co-ordination between the two organisations and strengthen the potential of students in various fields.
The two parties will also be organising joint specialised conferences, seminars and workshops, in addition to encouraging students to engage in volunteer work during al khaliji’s activities for community service in Qatar.
The bank’s collaboration with Carnegie Mellon is part of al khaliji’s corporate social responsibility policy to partner with leading local institutions in various fields and disciplines, with the aim of raising the bar of performance and the standards of service at al khaliji, while advancing its community development efforts in Qatar.
