Information Systems grad wins second place in Youth Creativity Award in Data

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) Information Systems graduate Abdulaziz Mohammed Al-Harqan (Information Systems 2023) secured second place in the AI Applications track at the inaugural Youth Creativity Award in the World of Data. Organized by Qatar’s Ministry of Sports and Youth alongside the National Planning Council’s National Statistics Center and GCC-Stat, the regional contest celebrated Gulf Youth Day in Doha.

Al-Harqan was recognized for his project, “Gulf Career Compass,” which applies artificial intelligence solutions to regional data analytics. Open to youth across the GCC, the competition encourages young innovators to develop data-driven tools that support regional digital transformation and economic development. CMU-Q is a Qatar Foundation partner university.
