DOHA, QATAR — Faculty, students, and alumni from Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), a Qatar Foundation partner university, gathered at the World Summit AI to showcase the university’s growing footprint in the field of artificial intelligence.
The event served as a key platform for CMU-Q to highlight its strategic commitment to shaping the future of AI education, including the recent launch of the Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence.
Houda Bouamor, associate area head of information systems at CMU-Q and an associate teaching professor of information systems, moderated a panel discussion titled “GovAI: Scaling AI Adoption Across Government.” The panel included CMU-Q alumna Eman Al Kuwari (IS 2015), who currently serves as the director of the Digital Innovation Department at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
CMU-Q students were also engaged in the World AI Summit, including competing in the Qatar University Health Tech Hackathon. The competition provided students with an opportunity to apply their technical skills to real-world challenges.
