Her Excellency Dr. Hessa Sultan Al Jaber, former minister of Information Communications Technology Qatar (ictQatar), delivered a talk titled “Digital Disruption – Shaping the Future of Qatar” at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q). Her Excellency focused on the advent of new technologies and ways in which the growth of digital investments can be used to diversify Qatar’s economy.

Stressing the importance of human capital in growing the country’s digital economy, Her Excellency said that Carnegie Mellon, among other organizations, is vital in nurturing an environment that will help Qatar's digital sector grow.

Ilker Baybars, dean and CEO of CMU-Q, commented: “Her Excellency is an exceptional advocate for education in computer science and information systems, and her continued involvement with Carnegie Mellon Qatar inspires our students to pursue careers in emerging fields.”
