Congratulations to “Delta Consulting” on winning the 2014 Internal Case Competition.
CMU-Q business administration students Anas Farah, Shafiya Fasalu and Amalan Roshan claimed the trophy along with Nancy Yue, a double major in business administration and statistics from the Pittsburgh campus, and Haris Aghadi, a CMU-Q information systems student.
This year's case challenged participants to focus on Ooredoo's response to the data in "New Horizons: Young, Arab and Connected," a study of information and communication technology use among MENA youth. Hassan Al Mulla, a business administration graduate, represented Ooredoo at the competition.
Delta Consulting impressed Al Mulla and the judges by focusing on how Ooredoo could win customers in Algeria and Tunisia.
“The winning team took that huge research study, honed in on one part and suggested how to move forward from there. They came up with a comprehensive plan in a very short amount of time,” said Al Mulla, who is an analyst of interconnection and capacity planning in Ooredoo’s international services department.
Faculty judges were: Professors Emin Civi, Milton Cofield, Benjamin Collier, Fuad Farooqi, John Gasper, Sham Kekre and Peter Stuettgen.
Alumni judges were: Yasmine Abdelrahman, Mohammed Abu Zeinab, Amna Al Mazroei, Layal Al-Alami, Mohamad Al-Mahmeed, Omar Allouba, Rasha Orkhan Rustamzade and Mohamad Takiddin.
The competition was organized by Patrick McGinnis, assistant teaching professor of business communication.
