CMU-Q alumni celebrate 5, 10 and 15 year reunions

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) graduates from three classes celebrated their alumni reunions together at a dinner with Dean Michael Trick. The classes of 2019, 2014 and 2009 have just marked their five, 10 and 15 year anniversaries of graduating from the Qatar campus.

CMU-Q is a Qatar Foundation partner university.

Trick emphasized the importance of a strong alumni network as he welcomed the graduates.

“The multi-class reunion is a Carnegie Mellon tradition, so you can connect with your classmates and also meet other alums you may not have crossed paths with,” he said.

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar hosts alumni gatherings, reunions and other events throughout the year. Alumni often return to campus to share their expertise in classes, or to contribute to student events as mentors and judges.

“I am very proud of how connected our alumni remain with the university,” Trick said. “This is a special place to study, in part because students learn from and are inspired by the graduates who came before them.”

When the Class of 2025 celebrates their graduation in May, there will be more than 1400 alumni from the Carnegie Mellon Qatar campus. Most graduates live and work in Qatar, contributing to Qatar National Vision 2030 by helping transform the country into a knowledge-based economy.
