CMU-Q alum startup receives Most Valuable Innovation Response to COVID-19 award 

The startup HeliumDoc, formerly Meddy, received the Most Valuable Innovation Response to COVID-19 award at the Qatar Digital Business Awards. The award was accepted by Abed Alkarim Khattab, a 2016 business administration graduate from Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, a Qatar Foundation partner university. 

In 2014, Haris Aghadi, an information systems graduate from the Class of 2014, and classmate Abdulla AlKhenji started Meddy as a class project. After graduation, they built the idea into a startup that expanded to Dubai. Meddy was recently acquired by Helium Health and the company has rebranded as HeliumDoc. Aghadi and Khattab continue to serve on the HeliumDoc leadership team.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and(MCIT) announced the Qatar Digital Business Awards during the Doha Smart City Expo 2022. A total of 189 nominations were submitted in 10 categories for this year’s awards.
