Most diverse student population in Carnegie Mellon Qatar campus history

CMU-Q students represent 53 countries on 5 continents

The 2021-22 academic year at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), a Qatar Foundation partner university, will be the most diverse in campus history. This year, CMU-Q students come from 53 countries on five continents. Nearly 40% of the student population are Qatari.

Michael Trick, dean of CMU-Q, is delighted that people from all over the world are choosing to study at Qatar campus: “It is wonderful to see our student population include Qatar nationals, those from the region, as well as people from much farther afield. Education City is a special place to study for exactly this reason: people from across the globe come together with a shared vision of knowledge and understanding.”

There are 439 students enrolled at CMU-Q for the 2021-22 academic year, the second highest number in campus history. The incoming class includes 117 students from 33 countries.

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar offers four undergraduate programs: biological sciences, business administration, computer science and information systems.

CMU-Q is now accepting applications for students beginning their studies in August 2022.
