Lehoczky speaks about real-time computing

John Lehoczky discussed the challenges of real-time computer systems in a John Patrick Crecine Distinguished Lecture in Social Sciences on March 8.

Lehoczky, the Thomas Lord University Professor of Statistics at Carnegie Mellon University, explained how real-time systems require a precise scheduling of computational tasks to keep the operations on time. To illustrate, he spoke about the Mars Pathfinder of 1997, video streaming and driverless cars.

While in Qatar, Lehoczky also delivered a lecture to faculty on computational finance and risk management. He was one of several guests from the home campus who visited CMU-Q during Pittsburgh week, March 6 through 10.
