Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) has announced the Class of 2027 Qatar Campus Scholars: Eman Masood, Maya Barghouti, Mohamed Waiel Shikfa, and Lujain Almulaifi. In addition, Masood and Shikfa have been chosen as the two Andrew Carnegie Society (ACS) Scholars representing the campus. All honorees will be celebrated during the May 2027 Senior Awards and Graduation Ceremonies.

DOHA, QATAR — Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) has named four standout seniors as Qatar Campus Scholars for the Class of 2027, recognizing their exceptional academic accomplishments, leadership, and contributions to university life. CMU-Q is a Qatar Foundation partner university.

Selected from a graduating senior class of more than 100 students, the recipients embody high standards of scholastic excellence. Each has also been active outside the classroom in areas that include campus organizations, volunteer work, sports, the arts and community leadership.

The four Qatar Campus Scholars representing their respective academic programs are:

  • Biological Sciences: Eman Masood
  • Business Administration: Maya Barghouti
  • Computer Science: Mohamed Waiel Shikfa
  • Information Systems: Lujain Almulaifi

From among the four honorees, two have also been selected to represent the campus as Andrew Carnegie Society (ACS) Scholars.

The Andrew Carnegie Society Scholar award is a prestigious annual distinction extended to two graduating seniors at CMU-Q. The Andrew Carnegie Society Scholars represent the pinnacle of academic distinction and service at Carnegie Mellon, joining a network of scholars across CMU campuses worldwide.

Following the final interview round, the ACS Scholars for the Class of 2027 are:

  • Eman Masood 
  • Mohamed Waiel Shikfa 

All scholars will be formally recognized during the Senior Awards Ceremony in May 2027, as well as the Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2027.
