Dr. Selma Limam-Mansar appointed associate dean, education

Dr. Selma Limam-Mansar, teaching professor of information systems, has been named associate dean, education, at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar.

Dr. Limam-Mansar has been at Carnegie Mellon Qatar since August of 2007. She holds a Ph.D. from L’Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble’ in France. She has experienced various global educational models while teaching in France, the Netherlands, the UK, and the U.A.E, before joining Carnegie Mellon Qatar to help launch the information systems major. She taught information systems courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to some extent at the executive level.

In previous positions, she also taught graduate and executive level courses and workshops on the topic of business process management and simulation.

Professor Limam-Mansar was awarded the meritorious teaching award at

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar in 2010. She also founded a high school

outreach program for the information systems program, “Ibtikar” (stands

for ‘innovation’). The program was awarded the Education City

sustainability award in 2011 for excellence in community service. In June

2013, she founded the first chapter of the Association for Information

Systems in Qatar (QRAIS), of which she is the current president.
