Carnegie Mellon Qatar celebrates academic excellence
91 students on the Dean’s List for the Spring 2019 semester
DOHA, QATAR: Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) recognized 91 students on its Dean’s List for outstanding academic performance in the Spring 2019 semester.
The Dean’s List is a tradition throughout Carnegie Mellon. At the end of the semester, each Carnegie Mellon college compiles a list of students who have achieved outstanding grades across a full course load. At the Qatar campus, the CMU-Q community celebrates with a recognition ceremony.
Michael Trick, dean of CMU-Q, spoke about the significance of celebrating academic excellence: “Our academic programs are very demanding. In each and every class, students are challenged to delve deep, think creatively, study and review, and work very, very hard. We recognize and celebrate the students who have risen to this challenge.”
The Dean’s List for the Spring 2019 semester includes 19 seniors, 26 juniors, 38 sophomores and eight freshmen who made the list. Students were recognized across all of CMQ’s programs in biological sciences, business administration, computational biology, computer science and information systems.
