CMU’s Krishnan looks to information systems for real-world solutions

Ramayya Krishnan, dean of Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University, spoke to CMU-Q about how the widespread deployment of sensors and information technology is transforming business and society. Krishnan is the W.W. Cooper and Ruth F. Cooper Professor of Management Science and Information Systems at Heinz College and the Department of Engineering and Public Policy.

Krishnan is a pioneer in the field of information systems, having founded the information systems and management program at Carnegie Mellon. He is the first dean of Heinz College, created in 2008, which is home to both the Public Policy School and Information Systems School. The college looks at issues in domains such as information privacy, evidence-based health care delivery, and urban consumer behavior.
