The talk “Translanguaging and L2 Arabic: From Theory to Practice”, a conversation with Dr. Khaled Al Masaeed, Carnegie Mellon University. Join the conversation on Translanguaging theory and pedagogical practice in the L2 Arabic classroom. The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Lama Nassif, Associate Teaching Professor, Arabic Studies, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar.

About TAFL Talks

TAFL Talks is a series of events in Arabic designed to foster discussions that bridge theory and practice in the teaching of Arabic as a second language. The initiative aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise across geographic and linguistic boundaries. Topics will include strategies for enhancing language proficiency, the use of artificial intelligence in Arabic language instruction, assessment principles, and other key issues shaping Arabic classrooms. The series is organized and hosted by Dr. Nesrine Basheer (The University of British Columbia), Dr. Lama Nassif (Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar), and Dr. Radwa El Barouni (The University of Pennsylvania).
