Reboot The Earth is a social coding event that brings young computer programmers, administrators, architects, those familiar with the Salesforce ecosystem, scientists and other interested people together to improve upon or build technology that addresses the current climate crisis. This year’s focus will be on Agriculture and AI, and will take place around the globe in the months of April to October 2025. Each location will be presented with specific UN selected challenges that focus on local climate issues.
Reboot the Earth is co-hosted by the United Nations and CMU Qatar including OICT, FAO, Carnegie Mellon, Salesforce, and DPGA.
At Reboot the Earth Doha, taking place October 2–4, the organizing partners will collaborate with students, climate experts, and the broader open-source community.
Over the course of two days, innovators will be presented with a series of tech challenges, for which they will use open data, AI, Salesforce tools, and tech concepts to build a digital public good. Each solution should aim to solve a local climate crisis unique to their community needs, and be available to others – improving or building upon open source programs that can be used by anyone globally to address the climate crisis.
Participants will benefit from dedicated support from mentors and partners, aimed at refining and enhancing their prototypes. The event will end with an award ceremony on the final day, recognizing and celebrating the achievements of the participants.
