Students compete in UBA Case Challenge

Business administration seniors Nawal Mir and Osama Qureshi and juniors Farha Khan and Hammed Mahmoud travelled to the main campus to compete with Pittsburgh students at the Tepper Undergraduate Business Administration (UBA) Case Challenge. The case—to create a future marketing strategy for Chipotle Mexican Grill—provided an open-ended and challenging opportunity for creative thinking.

When the finalists were announced by judges, teams including Farha Khan and Hammed Mahmoud found themselves going head to head for the championship. In an exceptionally close final round, Farha Khan and her CMU teammates, Eugene Chung and Zeeshan Rizvi, emerged victorious.

Case competitions are an important part of a business education, providing students with realistic problems they could face in consulting. The second internal case competition of the academic year will take place on the Qatar campus in March, 2017.
