His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Economy and Commerce, said that Qatar has made considerable strides in terms of promoting economic diversification and sustainable development. Speaking at CMU-Q, the minister shed light on the latest investment opportunities in Qatar.

His Excellency highlighted key economic challenges facing Qatar in a presentation that outlined the government’s efforts to bolster growth in the non-hydrocarbon sector and overcome obstacles in the local market.

Following the conference, His Excellency and Dean Baybars signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote cooperation in the fields of education, scientific research and community development.

The MoU lays the foundation for a solid partnership between both parties in the fields of scientific research, strategic studies and scholarships. It also facilitates the exchange of scientists and researchers in the fields of computer science, public policy and business administration.
