CMU-Q professor contributes academic research to global business book

Nui Vatanasakdakul, teaching professor of information systems at CMU-Q, has been named a contributing author to the global business book, Mind the Gap: Scaling Businesses Across Cultures. An expert at the intersection of technology, management, and cross-cultural collaboration, Vatanasakdakul’s has a particular interest in how people communicate and interpret meaning across cultures. As a contributing author, she integrated more than 25 years of research into the text, which is co-authored by venture capitalist Vinnie Lauria and business builder Stefano Pellegrino.

Her contributions focus on “transcreation,” a concept demonstrating how global business leaders must adapt communication intent and decision-making to fit local cultural contexts. By grounding real-world venture and deal-making scenarios in established academic frameworks, Vatanasakdakul’s research provides international executives with analytical tools to navigate cultural complexities and scale businesses across borders effectively.
