CMU-Q announces scholars for Class of 2022
Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) has selected the scholars for the Class of 2022. This year’s Qatar Campus Scholars are Mohammed Tareef Sayed from Biological Sciences, Fatima El-Sallabi from Business Administration, Đorđe Popović from Computer Science, and Fabiha Tahsin from Information Systems.
Each year, CMU-Q names four senior students the Qatar Campus Scholars for their class. The students are chosen for their distinguished academic and student leadership record at CMU-Q. From these four students, two are named Andrew Carnegie Society Scholars.
Michael Trick, the dean of CMU-Q, noted: “At Carnegie Mellon, we encourage students to excel academically, and to explore their interests outside the classroom. The Qatar Campus Scholars for the Class of 2022 have been exemplary students, as well as strong leaders with a passion for giving back.”
The Andrew Carnegie Society Scholar (ACS) is an annual award coming from main campus that is extended to two CMU-Q graduating seniors. Fatima El-Sallabi and Đorđe Popović are the ACS Scholars for the Class of 2022.
The students will be formally recognized at the Senior Honors Ceremony that takes place in April 2022.
