Carnegie Mellon Qatar takes top two spots at Al Ruwad

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar teams placed first and second at the Al Ruwad Business Case Competition, hosted by College of the North Atlantic-Qatar (CNA-Q). The teams were very close after four rounds of competition, with Faisal Mir, Zain Sadeq, Dema Abou Samhadaneh and Haris Syed edging out Mohamed Hamdi, Emad Iqbal, Mahnaz Jalali and Aisha Kazi for first place.

The Al Ruwad Business Case Competition is an annual event that draws university students from across the region. CMU-Q has won the competition for the past four years, and last year placed two teams in the top three.

This year, nine teams representing Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, CNA-Q, Georgetown University in Qatar, Hamad Bin Khalifa University and Stenden University Qatar participated in three rounds of case analysis, with the top four teams competing in the final round. Judges included industry professionals from the oil and gas, banking, agriculture and telecommunication sectors.
