CMU-Q alumni celebrate milestone reunions

DOHA, QATAR: Graduates from select classes of Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) came together to celebrate their milestone reunions. Graduates marked their one-, five-, and ten-year reunions and reconnected with faculty and staff at an event hosted by Michael Trick, dean of CMU-Q.

Trick, dean of CMU-Q, stressed the importance of the alumni community: “The alumni of CMU-Q are changing Qatar and the region, they are making a positive impact in a myriad of fields. We are so pleased to bring the alumni community together, where newer graduates can meet and network with more established CMU-Q alumni.”

Saleh Al-Raisi, class of 2014 and head of the Qatar alumni chapter, said: “It’s really interesting to see what other alumni are doing now. It’s a great way to network, talk about the old days but also see what we can do moving forward. Coming out of university you are charged and excited, you want to achieve things, but you are going to learn it takes time. So patience and humility are two attributes I’d like new graduates to hold on to.”
