Convocation is a long-standing university tradition that is held on or before the first day of classes of the fall semester. It is the official start of the academic year, and the welcoming of the incoming class to Carnegie Mellon University.

Following Carnegie Mellon Qatar’s long standing tradition, the Class of 2023 is presented with a tile engraved with their graduation year. The tile will be installed in the walkway of the CMU-Q building when the class graduates in 2024.

This year, the Convocation ceremony will take place online.
