The talk “Employing AI in Arabic Teaching: Principles and Applications“, a conversation with Dr. Attia Youseif, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures at Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies at Indiana University, aims to address multiple core questions, including the role of AI in enhancing L2 Arabic teaching, principles to consider to ensure the optimal use of AI, challenges and questions associated with its use, practice applications, and recommendations for successful AI use in L2 Arabic classrooms. The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Lama Nassif, Associate Teaching Professor, Arabic Studies, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar.

About TAFL Talks
TAFL Talks is a series of events in Arabic designed to foster discussions that bridge theory and practice in the teaching of Arabic as a second language. The initiative aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise across geographic and linguistic boundaries. Topics will include strategies for enhancing language proficiency, the use of artificial intelligence in Arabic language instruction, assessment principles, and other key issues shaping Arabic classrooms. The series is organized and hosted by Dr. Nesrine Basheer (The University of British Columbia), Dr. Lama Nassif (Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar), and Dr. Radwa El Barouni (The University of Pennsylvania).
