MindCraft

MindCraft is a computer science outreach program for pre-college students. At Carnegie Mellon, we believe in ideas that change the world, and computer science can transform your ideas into reality.

A fun and interactive experience, you will spend the day exploring programming, problem solving and  other skills within computer science. We want you to learn and enjoy computer science and imagine yourself making your career in this exciting field.

MindCraft workshops are continually evolving to inspire, inform and educate students in Qatar.

MindCraft is organized and supported by the Hamad Bin Jassim Center for Computer Science Education, a partnership between Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar and the Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation.

What

On the day of the MindCraft event, students will explore computer science in two different workshops: robotics and computational thinking. Both workshops are delivered interactively, where students can learn, apply, play, and explore with their friends.

Who

Most MindCraft workshops are for secondary students, although we do offer some programs to students in middle school.

When

The one-day MindCraft workshops are held throughout the academic year. During school breaks, we also offer camps that allow students to delve more deeply into computing.

Where

MindCraft takes place at the CMU-Q building in Education City.
