Alum startup wins at Arabnet Kuwait

The momentum continues for CMU-Q alumni Haris Aghadi and Abdulla AlKhenji, who won first place in the Startup Demo Competition at Arabnet Kuwait on October 5. Aghadi and AlKhenji are the founders of Meddy, an online application that connects doctors and patients in Doha.

The Arabnet competition received more than 100 applications from entrepreneurs and startups in the early growth stages; only five were selected as finalists to present at Arabnet Kuwait. AlKhenji was presented with the award at the closing ceremonies.

Meddy has won several local and regional awards recently, including SeedStars GCC, the GCC Entrepreneurs Forum in Bahrain and Tech Startup of the Year at the Qatar IT Business Awards, 2016. They recently launched the Arabic version of Meddy, as well as Meddy Blog, a health care information resource for people in Qatar.
