Grants Fiscal Manager
Maria Georges started working at CMU-Q as a grants administrator in the research office in 2011, and she was promoted to senior grants administrator in September 2013. She is responsible for ensuring compliance with policies and procedures of both CMU and the research sponsor by administering and advising departments, principal investigators and the associate dean for research on financial resource matters. She runs the pre-award submission process by working on proposal development and submission with faculty and collaborators, including budgeting. She administers the post award process by approving purchases and travel and checking the availability of funds for hiring. She runs the closing processes and the audit processes as required by the sponsor.
