Work experience and skill building

Career Services

Carnegie Mellon Qatar works closely with organizations in government and industry to create meaningful internships where students can gain practical work skills. CMU-Q’s Career Development Office posts internships and connects qualified students with potential employers.

Student Employment

Many students choose to work on campus in a variety of different roles. The Academic Resource Center, for instance, is the largest employer of students on campus and employs undergraduates as course assistants during both academic semesters. Some of these positions may require undergoing additional training.

Networking events

Throughout the year, CMU-Q holds events to introduce students to prospective employers. These events include information sessions, day-long workshops, networking sessions and career trips. CMU-Q also participates in the Education City Career Fair.

Job Shadowing

Job shadowing is an excellent way for students to see firsthand the way people work in different careers. CMU-Q arranges job shadowing with professionals within Qatar.

Job skills and resume writing

CMU-Q provides many resources to help students learn practical job search skills. Through one-on-one consultation and group workshops, students are well-equipped to land the perfect internship, and eventually the perfect job.

Internship Showcase

Each summer, students do internships to learn workplace skills, network with employers and put their education to work.
