Freshmen Dhow Cruise

Sail the Arabian Gulf in a traditional dhow.

Bedouin/Kayaking Overnight

Spend the night living in a traditional-style Bedouin camp and kayak through the mangroves by Al Thakira.

Explore Qatar

Students are invited to a variety of social, cultural and artistic events going on around Doha. Students should check their e-mails for opportunities to go to the Museum of Islamic Art, Katara, sporting events and other fun activities, both inside and outside of Education City.

Community Events

International Day

International day is an annual celebration that has began the first year that CMU-Q opened its doors. Students are invited to a cultural fashion show, dance demonstrations and an international food fest.

Hunger Banquet

The Hunger Banquet is an unusual kind of banquet designed to address local and global hunger. At the Hunger Banquet, only six out of 50 attendees – representing the 15 percent of the world who are considered high income – were given a king’s meal, while the majority of participants received a much more modest supper.

Diversity Movie nights

Movie screenings followed by a group discussion.

Cultural Coffee house

Students turn out to watch – or take part in – a series of acts that range from musical performances to traditional folk dancing.
