Health and wellness is a crucial part of succeeding in university. Healthy and balanced students are more focused, they tackle their studies with energy and enthusiasm, and they take time to have fun and enjoy the university experience.


Health services

CMU-Q provides information and resources to students about their health, with particular attention to the most common concerns facing college students.

Health screenings

  • Blood pressure and resting heart rate
  • Body fat test via bioelectrical impedance
  • Body Mass Index (BMI) measurements

Counseling services

CMU-Q supports and attends to the personal, emotional, spiritual, interpersonal, and mental health needs of students. We have a licensed psychologist on staff to offer one-on-one counseling services in a safe, confidential setting.

The student’s privacy is very important to us. We do not release your personal counseling information without written consent, except in emergency situations where information is needed to protect your health and safety.

New Students

Once students are admitted to CMU-Q, they must provide medical history, enroll in health insurance, and complete a wellness survey,

Peer Health Advocates

Peer Health Advocates (PHAs) are students who volunteer to promote healthy living at CMU-Q. The team of PHAs organizes events throughout the year to inform and inspire students to be well.

PHA events include:

  • Breast cancer awareness 
  • Stress busting events
  • Let’s Lift the Mask, an initiative to show that we are united as a community and not alone in our struggles

Qatar Foundation Primary Health Care Center

Located in the HBKU Student Center, the health clinic provides primary medical services to those in Education City. Kulud Pharmacy, which is also in the HBKU Student Center, is a convenient place to pick up prescriptions.

Qatar Foundation encourages well-being among staff, students and members of its community by providing a wide range of recreational activities and events. QF offers a diverse selection of options, including fitness centers, pool, games room, tennis court, squash court, splash pool, training pool, pool deck Jacuzzi, gym, clubhouse, table tennis and massage rooms, in order to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage good habits.
