DESCRIPTION:First-Year Convocation is a long-standing university tradition that is held before the first day of classes of the fall semester. It is the official start of the academic year\, and the welcoming of the incoming class to Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar.  \nFollowing Carnegie Mellon Qatar’s long-standing tradition\, the Class of 2029 is presented with a tile engraved with their graduation year. The tile will be installed in the walkway of the CMU-Q building when the class graduates in 2029.
