CMU-Q in first place after three rounds of Qatar Universities Debate League
Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar held onto its first place standing after the third tournament in this season’s Qatar Universities Debate League (QUDL). In the third tournament, which was hosted by Qatar University, 24 teams from seven universities faced off. Moussa Zekak tied for first place in the best speaker category, and CMU-Q remained in first place overall with a total of 36 points.
Following the tournament, QatarDebate and the National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons (NCPW) held a public debate for the top four teams. Moussa Zekak and Ali Abbas represented CMU-Q during the discussion that focused on the issue of chemical weapons and maintaining international peace and security.
CMU-Q was also represented by Buthayna Al-Mulla, Radu Revutchi and Mohammad Shahmeer.
