Outreach participants eligible for Early Decision

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar is now accepting applications for Early Decision for August 2017. This year, secondary students who have participated in any of the CMU-Q outreach programs are eligible to apply early.

Last year was the first time CMU-Q included Early Decision in the admission cycle, with 14 students receiving their acceptance by December 15. A common part of university admission in the United States, CMU-Q was the first university in Qatar to offer Early Decision. Students who  are granted admission can secure their spot in the August 2017 class four months earlier than regular applicants. Applying for Early Decision is a binding decision.

“We decided to open up Early Admission to students who have participated in any of the outreach programs at CMU-Q. This is a unique privilege and opportunity for students who are serious about studying at Carnegie Mellon Qatar,” said Jarrod Mock, director of admission.

CMU Qatar outreach programs include the Summer College Preview Program, CS Winter Institute, Botball, CS4Qatar, Tajer, Ibtikar, and Biotechnology Explorer Program. The deadline for applications is November 1, 2016, and students will receive their decision by December 15, 2016.
