CMU-Q’s Nada Arakji named an “Inspirational Young Change-Maker” by the International Olympic Committee

Nada Arakji, who graduated from CMU-Q in 2016, was named an International Olympic Committee (IOC) “Inspirational Young Change-Maker” for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Young Change-Makers list is comprised of 76 inspiring young people from around the world.

Arakji is one of only 14 Olympians on the list. In 2012, just weeks before beginning her undergraduate education at CMU-Q, Arakji became the first female athlete to represent Qatar at the Olympic Games in London. She again made history in 2016 as the first woman to represent Qatar in two consecutive Olympic Games.

The IOC Young Change-Makers were nominated by their respective National Olympic Committees to support the Youth Olympic Games athletes and inspire other young people in their communities.

The Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 will be held in October.
