Delta Consulting team wins Internal Case Competition 2017

With strong analysis and a compelling presentation, the Delta Consulting team bested a competitive field in the final round to win the 2017 Internal Case Competition.  The team was comprised of Cosette Esnes, a senior from the main campus in Pittsburgh, and CMU-Q business administration students Mounir Sheikh, Mahnaz Jalali and Umair Qazi.

The Internal Case Competition is an annual event that brings together business-minded students in Qatar and Pittsburgh. The competition takes place over two days as students explore a real-world business case.

This year’s case focused on food sector multinational onefoods, who served as a live client. Company representatives Omar Dabboussi, Sumaiya Minhaj, and Valerie Garcia, a 2016 graduate of the Business Administration Program, drove the inquiry as judges. Sara Abbas, who graduated from CMU-Q in 2012, represented the company throughout the competition, from inception to award.

Patrick McGinnis, distinguished career professor of business communications and organizer of the annual Internal Case Competition at CMU-Q, commented: “This was among the most hotly contested case competitions we have put on. Pittsburgh students added their experience, Qatar students applied their local expertise, and everyone pushed themselves and their peers to be the best that they could be.”

Judges included more than a dozen CMU-Q alumni, as well as faculty members and Stephen Pajewski, undergraduate business program executive director at the Tepper School of Business.
