Carnegie Mellon celebrates Qatar National Day with football big data
Darb Al Saai activity encourages football fans to explore the statistics of the game
To celebrate Qatar National Day, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) has created an interactive activity for football fans to explore the analytics of their favorite teams or players. The activity is featured at Darb Al Saai within the Qatar Foundation tent.
Researchers built the sports analytics activity using Q-Smartlab, a visual dashboard for big data that was created by CMU-Q as a teaching tool for studying financial markets. As 2022 FIFA World Cup approaches, CMU-Q has applied the Q-Smartlab technology to sports analytics, so fans can explore in-depth the statistics of the game.
