The program is now online! WORKSHOP BACKGROUND Process design is the conscious evaluation and organization of the tasks that a business process is composed of. Process design is typically driven by the desire for increased process performance (e.g. increased customer satisfaction, accelerated process execution) or the requirement for process conformance (e.g. ISO, ITIL, Sarbanes-Oxley). In contemporary process designs, IT often plays a great part as a means to automate parts of the process and to facilitate the process execution and monitoring. We have witnessed in the previous BPD workshops that besides research on BPD methodologies, there is a trend and a focus on addressing constraints in process design, user involvement, process reference models and process design quality. Papers that introduce innovative tools for process design as well as soft issues (human aspects) and quantitative aspects (e.g. financial evaluation of proposed process improvements) will be particularly welcome. Two main categories of submissions/presentations will be considered: a) regular papers and b) industry papers. All submissions have to follow the procedure explained below under the heading "Paper Submission". The best paper (to be indicated by the chairs) will be invited to a special issue of the "Software Process Improvement and Practice" Journal. The paper will undergo a peer revision process. |
