In addition, these chosen student were recent graduates of the first ever international session of LeaderShape 2007, one of the most popular student leadership conferences in America.

Although the founding members were graduates of LeaderShape 2007, there was one thing common between them - All of them were proud Carnegie Mellon undergraduate students, and they shared the passion for community change and positive reforms.

Successful Projects
NeoMotion has been embarking on many different community projects that would motivate people to give back for what they have received. Some of our successful projects have been:
Beach Clean-up (Fall 2007)
In the northern remote areas of Qatar, the executive members had found a beach that was polluted with many items that tarnished its beauty. In addition, it was adjacent to a national heritage site. We had decided to raise environmental awareness bout such an issue. Thus, we began to put our plan in action. Students from the branch campuses in Education City decided to forego a few hours of their weekend on a Saturday morning to help make a difference.
The beach itself was strewn with items ranging from plastics, and tea powder to alcoholic bottles, medical syringes, and even an oil canister containing raw crude oil. In addition, remains of a turtle and skulls of some birds and fish were strewn across the sandy plain.
CLIP (Computer Literacy Instruction Program) (Spring 2008)
With the large number of low-income citizens, society was evolving and adapting as technology advanced. However, only a certain few have access to such resources such as a computer and the Internet. We decided to take it upon ourselves to spearhead an initiative in "empowering technical skills" to the underprivileged. The demand for this was immense, as demonstrated by the committed individuals who participated in our pilot program held at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar's campus.
Thus, CLIP was created.
Most of our participants were security guards who had little or no exposure to computer usage. Over a period of 2 months, we taught them skills ranging from using a word processor to performing effective searching on Google. We had even added some exposure to Photoshop to show them the potential possibilities that technology can provide.
As a result, we have decided to make it a semesterly program that will be organized and run by our volunteers recruited by NeoMotion. We also hope to expand it to people who lack the linguistic skills to communicate, which encompass the labourers and janitorial staff across Education City and Doha.
