The Picnic Tables

Many of you have probably noticed that there are some brand new picnic tables sitting outside the student lounge... Here's the story.

On January 30, 2008, 2 tables and 4 benches showed up outside the student lounge. They were prepared with white primer for the specific purpose of being painted. Most students know about the tradition of the fence. Well, we decided that CMUQ needs a new tradition. Enter: the picnic tables. You can eat on them. You can sit on them. You can do your homework on them. You can hang with your friends on them. And yes, you are supposed to put paint on them.

Rules

Just like the fence has its own, a few rules apply to painting the picnic tables:

1) The picnic tables can only be painted after dark and before dawn, i.e. when the sun isn't up.

2) Any new paint job done to the picnic tables must be left untouched for at least 3 days before being painted again by a new group.

3) The picnic tables can only be painted with paint brushes (no rollers, no spray paint)

4) Only oil-based paint can be used on the picnic tables (again, no spray paint!)

5) No paint in the building. The only circumstance under which paint is to be brought into the building is in transit to the tables or storage, or to clean out the paint brushes.
