Carnegie Book Aid
From StudentOrganization
Carnegie Book Aid A unique name for a student led organization with the primary objective of advancing the philosophy of the founding father of Carnegie Mellon University, who believes that his “Heart is in the work”, through donation of used books for productive use by those who need books for colleges and libraries to improve literacy in developing communities around sub Saharan Africa.
Carnegie Book Aid aims to foster long lasting friendship, mutual understanding, and international cooperation by distributing free books. We partner with wide range local colleges, student led organizations and clubs to effectively carry out the distribution of the donated books.
Carnegie Book Aid was initiated by Ernest Appiah (sophomore, Carnegie Mellon University) together with well-committed and ardent students with insatiable appetite for serving communities around the world. Its motto is “unlocking knowledge through donation of academic books”.
