Experience CMU-Q - Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar

Experience CMU-Q is a one-day workshop for high school students to introduce them to the disciplines at CMU-Q. Students choose one of our four program areas, and then participate in fun, hands-on activities to learn more about that field. Experience CMU-Q is taught by faculty, staff and students, so this is an excellent opportunity to ask questions about university life.

The next Experience CMU-Q program will take place on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

Anyone may apply, but due to space limitations, first-time attendees to each workshop will be given priority to attend Experience.

At Experience CMU-Q, students choose one workshop:

Biological Sciences

Biological sciences students at CMU-Q do more than study science: they learn to follow their curiosity, explore hypotheses, and contribute in a meaningful way as young scientists and researchers.

Computer Science

Computer science students at CMU-Q learn both the theoretical foundations and the practical knowledge to push the frontiers of the field and make a real-world impact.

Business Administration

Business administration students at CMU-Q learn quantitative decision-making, our pioneering approach to undergraduate business education. With an emphasis on analytics and leadership development, students are prepared for the challenges of the global business landscape.

Information Systems

Information systems students learn to design, deliver, and use information and communication technologies to solve problems for companies, governments, and society.

Who can do Experience CMU-Q?
Anyone may apply, but due to space limitations, first-time attendees to each workshop will be given priority to attend Experience.

When is the workshop?
We hold Experience CMU-Q on one Saturday in the fall semester, and one in the spring semester. Watch this page for dates and registration information.

What programs will I learn about?
Students choose one workshop in the academic major of most interest to them. This gives students the opportunity to delve a little deeper into an area of interest. Some students attend more than one Experience CMU-Q workshop to explore different programs.
