The series of International Conference on Modeling of Complex Systems is a yearly invitational forum that brings together experts in the broad area of the computational modeling of complex systems. These include physical systems such as oil reservoirs, cognitive systems such as human learning, financial systems, artificial systems, and many more. These topics and the technologies that supports them, e.g., large-scale scientific computing and computational mathematics, are at the forefront of scientific research of the 21st Century and are fast evolving. Many of these topics are of direct interest to the needs of Qatar.

The 2009 edition of CMCS is jointly organized by Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Texas A&M University at Qatar and Qatar University. It will be held on May 5-7 in Doha, Qatar, on the premises of the Qatar campus of Carnegie Mellon University.
