Qatar's climate is, unsurprisingly, very hot. Some statistics:
- Our hottest months are June and July, with average high temperatures of 106°F.
- Our coolest month is January, with an average high of 71°F.
- The average high temperature is over 100 for five months of the year, May through September.
- Average rainfall is 3.2 inches a year, mostly in a few brief cloudbursts in January and Feburary. You probably won't need an umbrella here, unless you want to use it as a sunshade!
- You'd think a desert would have dry heat, but think again! In the late summer humidity is in the high 90s.
Temperature is measured in degrees Celcius here. To help you calibrate, a nice summer day in Pittsburgh is 22°C (72°F). A more useful benchmark here in Doha is that 38°C is equivalent to 100°F.
