There are optical shops where you can have glasses made quickly. You can bring your prescription with you when you move here, or have your eyes examined here quickly and professionally. Contact lenses are also readily available and reasonably priced.

Contact solution must be purchased in optical shops or pharmacies, rather than the grocery stores. It is surprisingly expensive in Qatar, so you may want to bring a supply from home.

Sunglasses are a necessity. Be sure they have UV protection.
