Framing

There are a number of places that do custom framing in Doha. Many are near decoration roundabout.

Several in the CMUQ community have had good experiences with Le Cadre picture framing (lecadre@qatar.net.qa, 469-2802, 520-7021 mobile). It's on the south side of Salwa road across from the Mitsubishi dealer. They do wood AND metal frames (most in Doha seem not to do metal frames). Prices are reasonable but not cheap! They are open 4pm to 9pm every day apart from Friday.

Some people also have had luck with Studio Qatar. This is a shop on the south side of Salwa Road just east of decoration roundabout. They have a reasonable selection of frames/mats/mounting boards, but it doesn't seem to be the kind of place that will give you lots of advice on how best to frame an item. Prices vary. A small simple frame with no glass/mat/etc runs roughly QR70. Larger works (e.g. movie-poster size) with glass and mat may run QR300 or more. It is unclear if it is possible to negotiate price reductions here.

Ali Bin Ali/Kodak store is also a great place for custom framing! There's a location over next to Chili's corner of C-Ring and Salwah Road / Ramada Junction. Reasonable pricing compared to Studio Qatar. Frames are imported from Italy.
