Computer Souq

At Sofitel, there is, for lack of better description, a computer and electronics souq. This is an indoor, 2 story area filled with small stores carrying computer parts and accessories. If you need a video card, sound card, speakers, or a random cable, this is the place to go.

In particular, on the first floor near the back, there is a store called American Family Computer. The proprieters have proven to be very knowledgable and reliable about the wares they sell, and are a good place to start looking.

As with any souq, prices are negotiable; for most items you shouldn't be paying the labelled price (if there is a label at all!). If you know what you're looking for, it's usually a good idea to check prices at an online store such as Newegg to get a feel for a reasonable price before wading in. Don't expect prices to be quite as low as you can get online in the States, but for common items, the difference shouldn't be much.
