The best bookstores in town are the Virgin Megastores in Villagio Mall and Landmark Mall and Jarir’s Bookstore, which has branches near Ramada Junction and near campus. Jarir's also carries a lot of office supplies, computer supplies, school supplies, and some craft supplies.

Many expatriates also order books through the usual online bookstores (e.g., Amazon, Barnes & Noble). These companies can ship books directly to Qatar, or via your institution's address. Another possibility is a paperback mailing service called booksfree.com. You can have 2, 4, 6, or 9 books shipped to you at a time and they come with postage paid return envelopes. Log on to create an account and start your list of books. Each time you return a book, they will send the next selection from your list. The cost is relatively low, about $15 per month for 4 books per month.

There are also a couple of quite worthwhile English-language book stores on the same street as Doha Clinic, walking towards Family Food Center.
