ATMs are abundant in the malls and around the city. Most of them will accept US banking cards and you can withdraw Qatari riyals which will be debited from your US checking account. A few ATMs (Ahli Bank – in City Center Mall near the front escalators, in The Mall, and in the departures lounge at the airport) will also let you choose to take the cash in US dollars. The airport departure ATM also allows withdrawals in Euros. One person reports that the Al Ahli bank ATMs no longer give dollars; can anyone confirm this?

Your US bank may charge you for the use of ATMs over here. Check with your local bank before moving.

On campus, there is an ATM in the entryway of the Recreation Center, one on the ground floor of the Cornell building, and one outside the dorms, across from the main entrance to the LAS building.
